RDC Activities
Most important project in the last 3 years (started or completed) having impact on cluster development including results, source of funding and approx. budget.
This is the list of some of the most important projects for the last 3 years of some of our cluster members and ICT Cluster:
- Development of a TriplePlay capable Ethernet Access switch; Duration: June 2006 - Nov 2007; Project is completed; Source of founding: Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency; Approx. budget: 60,000 Euro; Results: Successfully achieved all the objectives of the project.
- Development of a TriplePlay capable Ethernet CPE (Customer Premises Equipment); Duration: Jan 2009 - Feb 2010; Project is in process of execution; Source of founding: Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency; Approx. budget: 80,000 Euro. Expected results: A prototype of an integrated TriplePlay capable Ethernet CPE.
- Design of MEMS acceleration sensors and actuators. Ongoing. A training program has been developed. MEMS IC has been designed. Prototypes have been manufactured. Prototypes of the designed structures are in the process of characterization. Static and dynamic measurement systems are under development. The project is funded by Smartcom. This is a joint project between Smartcom, TU-Sofia and Sofia University. The duration is 3 years with a budget of 5 000 - 6 000 EUR/year.
- Research of filter circuits for RF applications. Ongoing. Smartcom supported project focused on theoretical optimization of existing circuits or synthesizing of new circuits with improved parameters. The investigations are based on the previous experience in filter design and the target is accumulating of knowledge methods and technologies for design of RF integrated circuits. Duration: 1.5 years; approx. budget 5000-6000 euro/year.
PHARE 2005 Programme ? Project BG 2005/017-586.04.02
- Cluster development initiatives ? Phase II Grant Scheme. Reference Number: BG 2005/ESC/G/CDI-II-003. Creation of Telecommunication Cluster. The project was implemented with financial support of the European Union and Republic of Bulgaria.
- Project No ?? 00-04-191 to the National Innovation Fund. Designing and developing a new system for automatic control, analysis and presenting the condition of the water basins on the territory of Bulgaria. Pilot project: Northeast planning region. The participation of Triada Soft Ltd is as a coordinator of the project. The goal of the project is building a hydro-meteorogical expert system that includes several products, which could reach the market: new measuring devices; software suitable for the particular geographic and administrative requirements of the country; know-how for independence of the hydro-meteorogical stations. Current stage of the project: Completion of last stage on December 28, 2009
- I3E project - Promoting Innovation in the Industrial Informatics and Embedded Systems Sector through Networking. The project have started in June 2009 and has tree years implementation. It is financed by the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme of EC.
Most important research results implemented within cluster by more than one enterprise (technical and organizational innovations, technology transfers, etc) Short description of the project and results
- The project "Development of a TriplePlay capable Ethernet Access switch" led to the successful development of a new product family, which was subsequently successfully implemented as an Access node in the Ethernet Access network of one of the biggest alternative telecom operators in Bulgaria. More implementations of the products in the family are expected during 2010.
- Research of filter circuits for RF applications. The main results are theoreticaly still: one patent application and two scientific papers. The patent application is:
I. Uzunov, P. Statev, B. Boyanov, R. Bradvarov, Filter Circuit, International Pat. Appl. PCT/IB2009/006083.
The papers are:
1. I. S. Uzunov, Theoretical Model of Ungrounded Inductance Realized With Two Gyrators, IEEE Trans. on Circuits and Systems - II, vol. 55, No. 10, pp. 981-985, Oct. 2008.
2. I. S. Uzunov, Equalizing the Maxima of the Amplifier Output Voltages in Gyrator Active Filters,
Conference "Telecom'2009", 8-9 Oct. 2009, St. Constantine, Varna, Bulgaria.
